5.0 Duties and Responsibilities
5.1.1 Supports the philosophy, objectives and policies of M.S.D. Nursing department
5.1.2 Request assistance from supervising staff nurse in the interpretation of philosophy, objectives and policies of the Nursing Department of patients and significant others.
5.2 Planning/ Organization:
5.2.1 Prepares clinics and charts for clinic sessions and restocks forms.
5.2.2 Process patient appointments utilizing the computer system.
5.2.3 Acts as runner for area by:

5.3.1 Assist in admissions with patient by:
22.214.171.124 Checks and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure of patients, check weights on initial visit and again when condition deems necessary.
126.96.36.199 Assist physician in examination of patients, protecting patient modesty as much as possible especially for females.
– Observes isolation techniques.
188.8.131.52 Makes out laboratory requisitions as Doctor’s requests and give explanation to patient when necessary.
– Collects specimen from patient for laboratory examination.
184.108.40.206 Changes paper on examination table after each patient use, changes sheets every sessions and whenever necessary.
220.127.116.11 Sets up and keeps diagnostic equipment for multi-patient use in clean, hygienic condition.

Instruct patient on re-appointment or referral to specialty clinic.
Notifies patient for any changes of clinic schedule and cancellation.
Instruct patients to come at the appointed time when they’ scheduled for admission.
Informs Head Nurse of doctor’s delays in his clinic hours.

Provide progress note identified with Doctors name and clinic code.
Arranges notes in an orderly fashion.
Checks for reports of previously ordered tests.
126.96.36.199 Checks laboratory slips every morning for abnormal results andbrings to the attention of physician, reports to Team leader if patient to be called for return visit.

184.108.40.206 Returned all charts to Medical Records after each sessions, if any charts taken for other clinics, Medical Records notified relocation of charts.
220.127.116.11 Reports to Team Leader any distressed patient, patient admission or unusual occurrence.
18.104.22.168 Reports on time at 0730 – 1200 – 13h00 – 16h30 sign in at Head Nurse office, 07h30 and out at 16h30
5.4 Quality Improvement:
5.4.1 Participates in the implementation of the Nursing Department’s Quality Improvement Program as appropriate for her role.
5.4.2 Utilize resources in an effective way.
5.4.3 Participates in the development of objectives to meet clinic goals and resolve problems.
5.4.4 Participates in planned strategies to achieve clinic goals and resolve problems.
5.5.1 Maintains certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation every two (2) years.
– Participates in attending In-service from other wards and seminars.
