ABU DHABI, 16th January, 2020 (WAM) — The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, presented its key projects and initiatives on sustainability and clean energy during its participation in the 13th World Future Energy Summit, WFES, 2020 in Abu Dhabi.
DEWA is the Efficiency Partner of the WFES, one of the key events of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said, “DEWA’s projects and initiatives support the Dubai Clean Energy 2050 launched byHis Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the emirate into a global hub for clean energy and a green economy, and to increase the share of clean energy mix in Dubai to 75 percent by 2050.”
He added, “DEWA makes every effort to achieve the UAE Centennial 2071, to make the UAE the world’s leading nation, the UAE Vision 2021, and the Dubai Plan 2021 to secure a happy and sustainable future, and raise the country’s status to always rank first in all areas.”
The authority’s stand hosted a model of Al Shera’a, DEWA’s new headquarters, which will be the tallest, largest, and smartest government Zero Energy Building in the world. DEWA’s stand also included prominent projects by its partners and subsidiaries, including the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the UAE Water Aid Foundation, Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC, Mai Dubai, Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, and Etihad Energy Services Company.
